Our vibrant community is always buzzing with social activity. The Good Shepherd Home offers an active and lively lifestyle within our homely and welcoming aged care facilities. We offer a stimulating daily program of social and recreational events, visiting entertainment, and regular outings.

At The Good Shepherd aged care facilities, we seek out every opportunity to support residents’ social and emotional engagement and wellbeing by promoting relationships and a stimulating program of social, leisure and recreational activities.

Our staff understand the vital role family and carers play in residents’ lives and the importance of maintaining close relationships.

It’s easy to stay connected with our onsite facilities and activities:

Café Memories Coffee Shop, open to residents, their visitors, staff, volunteers and contractors. Open 7 days a week (9AM – 1PM), it is the perfect place for residents to meet family and friends for morning tea or lunch.

Our small onsite shop offers quality clothing and accessories, bric-a-brac of all descriptions, drinks, treats and much more.

Our Village Hairdressing Salon provides services in the salon or residents’ rooms.

Our allied health services provide physiotherapy, occupational therapy, diversional therapy, speech therapy, and podiatry. Dental services, optometry and audiometry can be arranged as necessary.

Chaplaincy support services are available through Church services in the chapel, visits from our chaplain and open prayer meetings.

The library has a wide range of book titles, audiobooks and DVDs available for residents to borrow.

A shopping and bus service is also available for residents, providing regular trips to Stockland Townsville Shopping Centre and surrounds.

Our volunteers love to take our residents on scenic buggy and trishaw rides around the gardens and river surrounding our Home.
